Xenon Replacement covers

Is it possible to replace the plastic protection covers on a set of zennons as I notice that there are metal clips holding the cover in place?

I am slightly unsure but I don't believe so as when I went for a replacement unit it looked to be complete.
Also when I tried to take my damaged one apart it was not easy.
Its a shame my wife made me throw it away or you could have had it!

Thanks for the reply mate
I do have the standard halogen units on my car currently, do you think a swap would be possible?

You could swap the covers from an halogen but you would need to make sure the markings on the covers are the same on both? Other wise your going to have different light patterns

Thanks for the reply Darren. The halogens are currently on my car from factory so the markings should be the same no?
Also is it just a case of removing the clips & the covers come off?

Bit more envolved than that mate, you need to heat the light cover around the edges then tease it off then replace it and again heat the edges to seal it back up,
The clips are just there to make the seals stick from factory.

Hairdryer should do the trick yea? Do you think any extra adhesive would be needed as I would want to make sure the seals keep the water out

I know the mk4 boys put them in the oven for 5 mins or so the soften the sealant and then slowly ease them apart using a hairdryer/heat gun on low if needed.
Most reheat to reseal but I know some used tiger seal to real if needed.
