Garage Shelving.
« on: March 27, 2011, 06:35:13 pm »
I am looking to fully kit the end of my garage with some decent shelving.

Has anyone used any companies?  Ebay and the web brings up BigDug shelving, looks ok, EVO mag has an offer in too, and it is the right size - 2.7m width.

I currently have a block board work bench and toolboxes mounted on really strong brackets with rawl-bolts, but want to create more room.

Went to Costco and a little disappointed. They normally have lots of workshop type stuff but it was a little thin on the ground.

The only thing possible suitable was this.

Sorry guys.  :sad1:

Costco used to have the interlocking low impact flooring but I couldn't find it.

I got the Argos stuff which was on a special.

Interlocking and a bench to match which I replaced the top and bottom with a 2 inch thick slab of wood from work.

I am not running a business and 150kg per shelf for £40.

The costco flooring isnt that great.  But you get what you pay for.  The cutouts for the locking tabs dont line up and this causes gaps.  Its also very soft so it dents and marks easily.

I saw that Polished Bliss recently laid new flooring in their workshop that wasnt too badly priced and look very similar to Dura's offerings.

I tend to make all my own shelving, benches and racks from stainless so I cant help with any brands.

I'd be interested in peoples flooring solutions for the garage!

For my flooring I used an aluminium floor plate which was taken off the machines at work.

There was an upgrade and they were going to throw them in the skip!

Can't think what its called but when I looked it up it was expensive so I took it home with permission from boss!

Bloody good stuff if you can get it ill take a piccie if anybody wants a look?
