If i upgrade my discs to 312 x 25mm on my  2007 2.o tdi will i have to change the calipers or will the original calipers be ok,thinking of a remap in the summer so would like better brakes, any idea how much new discs and pads cost?

The GT TDI calipers AFAIK are the same as the GTI......But you will need the GTI carriers as the GT ones will be no good aswell as 312mm discs and pads.

took me bout 2hrs from start to finish but i used the ramp at work--the only issue you might have slight problems with is the rear carrier bolts as they are a bit akward to get to if the car is not in the air

I`m looking for a cheap brake upgrade on my GT TDI and I`m considering 312mm front discs after reading this thread.

So the calipers on my `06 TDI are exactly the same as found on a GTI?

Where`s the best place to get carriers from? The dealer?

And discs, I dont wanna use a dealer really so where`s the best place to source parts from?

Anything else I should know?

Thanks

Thanks Andy, do you need to be in the trade to use TPS or can joe public just walk through the door.

There isn`t a TPS anywhere near though, which branch do you use?
