Car stutters when I start it- advice please
« on: April 18, 2011, 01:06:55 pm »
Hi, this is something which the car does regularly usually when the engine is cold. When I turn the key it stutters like it's not going to start but at the last second it fires into life. Any thoughts what this could be? And would it be covered under warranty? Thanks

I believe this is quite common and nothing to worry about.

How old is your battery as this could be a first sign that its not holding charge.

This is a fairly well documented issue with TFSI engine it normally takes a longer hold of the ignition key for it to burst into life.  It would be worth your while checking the battery as Bacillus says and other common issues that could stop a car firing up.  It has however been discussed several times that they can take longer than some engines to burst into life.
