New wheels and springs
« on: April 23, 2011, 01:06:28 am »
Hi all,

Just purchased some BBS CH's (18×8) et40. As of yet they still rub, only on offside front. I guess this would be rubbing on the screw on the top of the lining?
But i have also purchased some FK springs to lower the car 40mm. Has anyone else got this set up, and do you have any problems with rubbing or anything else?

Cheers

That is 17mil ish further out than a Monza, so you will get rubbing and if you drop it 40 mil as well then it will rub on all 4 corners.  :happy2:

Was reading a few threads on golfmkv.com and they were saying with an 18×8 et40 and with 225 tyres i should be getting away without rubbing until i drop 2" (50mm).
I've taken off the arch lining screws at the top and there doesnt seem to be anymore rubbing. Do you think its going to be rubbing on the wing itself and therefore crunching the edges? What would you recommend? Coilovers so i could increase the stiffness of the dampers? Or get different springs with less of a drop?
