Parking Sensor Problem
« on: April 25, 2011, 09:28:30 pm »
Good evening,

The parking sensors on my vehicle have suddenly stopped working: there is no beeping or noise from the system.

I read somewhere to check each sensor by listening for a clicking when in reverse and there is a clicking from each sensor.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

I think they are factory fitted; but I wouldn't know how to tell...

Is there no other way to self diagnose without going to a dealer?

Take a pic and post it up. Factory ones sit flush with the bumper and are colour coded. Dealer-fit/aftermarket ones tend to protrude more.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

hi mate if they are after market put the car in reverse and see if each one vibrates. if one isnt then the system will register a fault and may not work.
