Have a visual inspection of the sensors on your rear bumper. 2 of mine need replacing as they have corroded under the paint. I removed the paint gently it stopped the continuous tone in reverse, worked for a while but still get variable results.

They are not cheap to replace. Mine is booked in 9th May.

I have the aftermarket parking dynamics kit fitted to my car as it didnt have any originally.  :sad1:
They dont have actual sensors just a metallic strip that fits inside your rear bumper.
Mine work brilliantly. Might be a cheaper option than the VW one??

Im saving up now for the retrofitted MK6 pop out camera! But its expensive at the mo!

hi thanks for the help

they are oem fitted.  is there any way of testing them

One of the sensors has a little black mark on one side looks like dirt or was just missed when sprayed will try and clean it up.

Also would plugging it in to the laptop find the problem or not,  not to sure what software you use for the mk5  as vag com is for the mk4`s

Thanks aled

Worthwhile giving a gentle clean there could just be debris in there as above two of mine are badly corroded down the bottom lip. There's no option but to swap out (apart from go into vagcom and turn down the volume).
