Bye bye Megane....

Hello Edition 30...

It was all going so well until...

Which shut down the turbo... then tonight on the way home, something else 'happened' and now my car sounds like a tractor, won't rev beyond 3k and struggles to go over 30mph.  Oh and it's doing 18MPG.

I assume this is a coilpack... can anyone confirm please?

Day 1 of VAG ownership and this happens... gutted :(

Sounds like a coilpack/spark issue if it sounds like it running on 3 cylinders. Best way to check is to get its scanned with VCDS.  :happy2:

You may be lucky so call your vw dealer and ask if you car is on the coil pack recall list.

Cheers for confirming folks.

It has warranty from the dealer I bought it from anyway but my local dealer is literally 20 seconds drive from my house!!

I'll pop in tomorrow  :happy2:

Russ you are the unlucky person around first your Megane with the dodgy starter and wheels falling off and now you buy one of the most reliable cars around and your already having problems all I can say is stop walking under those bloody ladders.

Apparently coilpack failure is common on "just bought" golfs as the dealer valeter may have given the engine bay a quick jetwash prior to collection & the coilpacks are quite susceptible to water ingress
