help car in limp mode

got her home finally- car been ok but exhaust light been on since storm fitted my 3"DP
but today car dropped into limp mode and i drapped myself home at 3mph,much to ammusement of my mate.

the exhaust light is stil on
the epc light is now on
the esp light is now on..... and i,m useless with engines!
there is liitle fel in her but i can smell petrol/fumes
help!!

Have you had the car mapped to suit the DP? If not, then it'll keep doing it.

Pull the battery for 15 mins, should reset everything and you'll just have to creep around until you've got it sorted.

no mate
the map was already on there!
so if i disconnect battery then it wil reset and i can use "gently" untill i get it remapped again?
is that me reading the solution corrrctly,i,m a div with cars honestly!!

Disconnecting the battery may well cause other issues.

If the remap is Revo then you may end up on low settings.

You may also end up needing to do Steering Angle Sensor and ABS Basic Settings.

if i am reading this right --the d/p was put on and the engine check light came straight on,The car will go into limp mode if the light stays on and is not either mapped out thought the garage might of advised you on this or have i got it wrong :smiley:

well sorta.....they told me the dp woud throw the sensor but i could have it vag com;d!!

it didnt come on for about 2 days, and its been on since- about six weeks!
the map is from angel tuning and ive been happy with it uptill now!
so i was thinking calling rtech and getting them to take me to stage 2-would thatsolve the prob...like mr danza said?

Shouldn't be a downpipe issue, it should run fine with it on even if the O2 snsor detects a fault and throws a code.

I ran the milltek downpipe with sports cat on a standard map and didnt get an error code :stupid:
good luck with getting it sorted :happy2:
My CEL now comes on nearly on a weekly basis with my stage 3 map! :popcornsoda:

It isnt mate, I'm onto my fourth tuner now :signLOL: I'm supposed to be getting a new map emailed out soon.

Dom switched to Shark Performance as we don't offer a stg2+ on our own software, only REVO (which incidentally also threw EM faults on Doms car)

EM lights after tuning are common and are usually a sign of an underlying problem with the car rather than a fault caused by the software or a new part being fitted. A scan with VCDS should point out the fault that is causing the OP's problems.
