I shall show you the door if you make a comment like that again.
Much prefer the cloths, but the leathers are nice too.

Nice to see a standard GTI on here, not many get left that way, will be cool to see what you do to it in the coming months.

So its time to carry out some mods !!

1st up is to lower it as i cant stand seeing it sit so high and with some new wheels ordered its got to sit lower.

I fitted Eibach Sportsline at a later date the shocks will be replaced but i wanted to check the ride height of the springs first

I bought them from demon tweeks off ebay seems to be pretty cheap £138.95 inc postage

stock height was -

fronts
floor to wheel arch - 64.5 cm
center wheel to wheel arch - 35.5 cm

Rear
floor to wheel arch - 66.5 cm
center wheel to wheel arch - 35.5 cm

So fitting them was ok rears very easy fronts a little harder, i ended up taking the whole shock, hub and disc off as i couldn't split the shock from the hub.

The measurements with the new springs fitted are -

fronts
floor to wheel arch - 63.5 cm
center wheel to arch - 34.5 cm

rears
floor to arch - 64.5 cm
center wheel to arch 33.5 cm

Ive only covered 10 miles so there may be a little change from this but over all im very happy.

sorry for the bad camera work maybe santa will drop off a new camera for me

the car looks lower in the flesh

Next up is new wheels there ordered and should arrive next week!!

Niiiice   what size tyres you looking to run with them? Got 8/9 staggered on mine with a 215 tyre and it looks spot on  :happy2:

Your gonna have some serious poke with a 9.5 rear   you might struggle with just running springs with that setup....... look forward to seeing them on

That's with 215/40/18's all round, it's settled nicely as that was taken just after fitting back in may, tbh i'm not entirely sure of the offsets as the front's were off the shelf and the rears were ordered as blanks from the company and drilled to fit.... think you'll defo need coilovers as it won't look right without the proper drop running stretched tyres, mines dropped 40mm all round and tbh could do with being about another 5mm but can't because its my daily and the roads and speedbumps would kill my car  :fighting:

Cracking set of wheels, colour coded valance would finish it off in my opinion
