Ah, seems though the passcode was set but not working, reset just and will try that.

Bit behind with using Lion  :P Haha seriously though had lion for a few months the UI tweaks are amazing! Shame not all software is compatible yet but that's what SDK's are for!

I have been using Lion since February (with a short break but it was still partitioned on the HDD). I missed off the latest DP4 version off it as i knew people would ask what DP4 meant so  :P :booty:

Shame not all software is compatible yet but that's what SDK's are for!

That's why i run it on a Partition at the moment so that if needs be i can switch back to Snow Leopard.

.
When my new iMac lands I'll be jumping straight from Tiger to Lion as this G4 iMac can't run Snow Leopard. I'm really looking forward to it

....I thought about the i7 version but don't need that extent of power.

27 inch (silly not to!)
2.7 GHz
8 Gig Ram
1 TB HD
Magic Trackpad
AppleCare 3-year warranty

Pulling the trigger next week all being well. The current iMacs are almost pro power, obviously depending on what you use your Mac for.

I need to upgrade Logic and some other software too.

Will it be your first iMac, Jay?

Robin, I wouldn't spend the extra on the ram from apple. You can get it far cheaper and it doesn't affect your warranty

I'm going for

27 inch
3.4 i7 (thinking if i go big it might take me 3-4-5 years to outgrow it)
2gb grahpics card
2tb hard drive
Magic mouse with numeric keyboard
4th ram then upgrade afterwards
3 years apple care

Jay,

The new iMacs are not easy to upgrade the ram in and it involves removing the screen.

I would pay for the RAM from Apple as it does now Void your warranty if you do it yourself. Even the majority of Authorised resellers are not allowed to do it.

Here is an Example of what you need to do to get at the HDD and RAM. It's on a 21.5" iMac but the process is the same for the 27"

Ignore me actually.

From what i have just been told it's only a HDD upgrade that voids the warranty  :ashamed:

....Am getting edu discount. Plus Carl makes a good point. iMacs have never been that easy to upgrade.

Wise move on the AppleCare - Most definitely worth it.
