I bother with torquing the wheel bolts to spec: 120 Nm (~90 lbft). I've read about it online and agree with what the experts said: just apply copper grease between the hub and wheel and torque the bolts to spec on the correct order.
Mmmmmm.....so that's a steell hub + alloy wheel, connected by steel bolts, all clagged in coper grease...and heated...and wet...And you don't think there will be any problems with corrosion?
I use Ceratec ceramic based brake grease to keep the wheel from sticking to the hub. Non-metallic, so not galvanic. Not expensive.
Not so sure about greasing whel bolts tho?
Fairly sure thay are specd as a dry torque? I'm sure Someone on here will be able to quote VW on this?
I really can't imagine VW providing a torque wrench for this job. You're lucky to get a spare wheel on many of their cars!
