I got my aircon sorted today.  :happy2:

Very helpfull guy at an aircon specialist, very informative from the word go.

I was worried I might get a huge bill having looked on various threads on here, but all it needed was a pressure switch so the whole bill was £232. The switch was only £60 quid, but to be safe (apparently it is easy to break the pipe if you try to do it in situe) he removed all the gas and refilled afterwards.

Next week he is going to fit a new rh door lock mechanism, so my central locking will work again!! :jumpmove:

AutoTechnix in Southampton. Small but perfectly (per)formed. :happy2:

I'm normally happy with my main dealer, but they were more vague, and double the hourly rate, compared to this guy. He was clear in what he would have to do that was chargeable just to see what was wrong. He could have told me anything of course, but all I can say is that the aircon now works perfectly for a quarter of what I was expecting. Apparently there was sufficient gas in the system, but it didn't know it!

When I asked about the door mechanism he explained exactly how to do it if I wanted to attempt it myself, and showed me an old unit, he fits lots of them. I was going to try but felt that it was worth leaving to an expert. Happy days.  :driver:

While driving on some back country roads, a Mustang GT came up from behind. So I sped through the next curve to test if he was trying to have some fun at my expense. Sure enough he came up on me quickly. I sped up a little bit to make sure the game was on and he came along until I left him behind more and more especially through each curve in the road. A couple of times I let him catch up, but I was pulling away from him fairly quickly each time. He turned off after 4 or 5 good runs. Having 23 psi to 7k rpm is proving to be lots of fun. Dont Know why pie phone makes my car look pink  :fighting:

Had to do one side at a time as the sun was sweltering.  Going to give the wheels and glass some more attention on Monday and give it a hoover
