Smooth front end trial fit (also a quick wash) - sorry about the ride height - I'm waiting for the coilover fairy to bring me a present at Christmas!

Also got round to fitting my black plastic parts (hazard warning light, expansion bottle cap & washer reservoir cap) & a genuine R8 oil filler I've had for years

Finally had my new wheel fitted last week and just give it a good old clean. Just because I wanted to play with my new snow foam lance.

And here are the results.

Wheels look superb.

nope
http://www.eurocarparts.com/basket.php
only a few pound cheaper through them on older stock
they are charging £86.92 for two 4 litre bottles, my price is £92.00  for two (((5))) litres bottles, since the golf holds around 4.7 litres a 5 litre bottle is perfect so to do a complete oil change on 1 bottle,
remember there are 2 different variations of the Castrol edge out there, the other one is about £10 a bottle cheaper but it isn't the correct one for an 08 gti  :happy2:

I'm not talking about the cheaper variant. Currently 4 litres of castrol edge 5w-30 is £29.99 for a 4 litre bottle. Cosiderably cheaper!!

ok guys let me educate you,,,, you say it is £28.49 on amazon right ?,,,, wrong,,,,, that price is for the basic Castrol edge 5w-30 and not the one with fst,,,, ie not the correct one for these engines,
now if you are smart enough to pick up the price then im sure you must know the difference in the 2 types of oil.
so and I quote ( OIL PRICE FAIL ) ????
PROVE ME WRONG  :booty:

The one for £28 is what everyone's been using for years with no problems and is for our engines as it meets te VW spec. The FST one seems to be a newer version of the £28 one but tbh I wouldn't pay the extra

read reply 2812, 2 different versions of this oil, bet you bought the normal one,,,,, have a look at the picture of the bottles I posted,,, you will see it is different.
the ones I bought have fst on the front and IS THE ONE recommended for my engine,,,, meant to be a far better oil although I cant vouch for that obviously but it wont be the same one

You don't need FST. It's a slight tweak to the recipe and doesn't make the pavlova taste noticeably different.

As long as it is fully synth, vw504 approved, 5w-30, it will be suitable for the mk5 gti.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

I'd agree, as long as it conforms to VW 504.00 or 507.00 they could print a cock and balls on the bottle for all i care

Not everyone can get a Costco card though.

I bought from amazon and the ad states that it meets Volkswagen 504 00 / 507 00 standards  only £3.49 more a tub
