Turn off traction control, dsg to s  foot on the brake and floor it. Will go up to 2500rp, and sit there till you let go of the brake.
I still haven't actually used it on mine.

Finally...got to the testing of the compression today. (because....exhaust smoke under full throttle!)

The plugs look great and are still at 0.028in gap.
The compression tested very well...and the numbers are:
_cyl1___cyl2___cyl3___cyl4_
195psi_191psi_192psi_192psi

So I am thinking I do need to replace the valve cover now...they are $185  :drinking:

Went and test drove a Scirocco  :scared:

Then they wouldn't go above 3k for my Golf so i couldn't afford it unless I manage to sell privately  :sad1:

On a side note I now see why DSG owners rave about it, having now driven one i want it more than ever!

You mean some DSG owners, I had DSG and sold it after 6 months because it was a snooze fest  (unless you are going for pure straight line speed)
