Recently bought my mk5 so into the stealrrs for a dsg service. Then to my own mech that I have used for ages for mayor service and csm follower, pcv, dv all up graded to lasted spec and the sump dropprd when doing the oil and ckeaned out and new pick up pipe. So thats the maintance taken care off, hopefully next up date will be bit more exciting...Oh I have done the seat inlays the dsg paddle extensions, dead pedal and winter rubber mats just to give the inside a start.

Wasn't strictly today - but still! Figured that having an ipod dock in the arm rest meant I could plug an ipod in, press cd twice on my RCD300 and boom.. Music!

But no, it doesn't work.. Doesn't register it at all. Does anyone know what I have to do with this one? Same happened when I tried plugging an aux adapter thingy into the back also.. hmm
sounds like you dock has dry joints. common failing with the early IPod docks.

Aux off ebay ?? if it is they ant designed for the early head units. only the 3rd generation head units. won't surprise you to know the sell won't mention that

So sorry haha! Never noticed this :(

What's deemed as early? My mk5 was registered March 2008  :sad1:

you fit CC yourself? I'm currently looking into this for a 56 gti, I read somewhere you can pay VW and it's cheap for them to retrofit.

I got awesome to do it, as it was only 30-40 quid labour on it and quite frankly, I'd rather pay them to do it right first time, than have me struggle and not have it working and then reuqire coding etc etc etc

that's a good shout! do you mind sharing the cost of parts and if you purchased them from a store? If not, no worries.
