Yesterday, not today, but I had a big day at AKS with Alex and his colleague (Chris I think).

- new front discs and pads
- new rear discs and pads
- decoke/cleaning of the inlet valves
- replace oil pick up pipe
- carbonio air intake and ITG panel filter fitted
- forge short shifter and 42 draft bushes fitted
- Powerflex dog bone engine mount and bushes fitted
- Wheel spacers fitted
- Revo settings checked and timing adjusted

The inlet valves were absolutely caked, Alex is going to ping me the photo's, so I'll get them up soon. My Ed30 has done 104k and definitely needed it done.

It was my first visit to AKS and it certainly won't be my last, even though it's a 180 mile trip from South West London. Top class blokes and top class service.  :happy2:

What do you think about the short shifter & 42 draft solid bushings ?

Did you leave the oem plastic cable bracket in and did you replace the 3 oem bushes in that with the solid type ?

Hello mate,

To be honest the throw is now good but i wouldnt describe it as silky smooth. Gearbox is 100k miles old though. It is definitely improvement however.

You would have to ask Alex regards the fitting bud, I don't have a clue.

Got myself a new toy today, didn't know they existed until my boss showed me and I had to get one  :signLOL:

CTEK Battery Sense so I can now check my batterys charge level on my phone via Bluetooth and if it gets too low will send me a push notification. Will be stocking these soon as long as there's no issues although we've fitted 2 so far and been fine. If there's enough interest could probably sort a group buy (with permission of course).

You going to remove the spoiler or try popping the light out of the spoiler while attached? If you are careful...you, or whomever it is, can remove the spoiler without damaging it...heat helps. Then you can use proper adhesive to reattach it.

I installed my Forge K04 Internal Waste Gate Actuator. Used the yellow spring and set its preload at 4mm on the rod, but went to almost 5mm to get peak boost perfect. Boost builds much quicker and holds more level than it did with the oem actuator.

P.S. I did this without removing the turbo...do not try this without very small hands and improvement on your dexterity. Or better yet...remove the turbo!  :drinking:

Smart that.  I use a ctech charger / maintainer on my lightweight battery.  Im half tempted to put a bigger one back in for reliability though.

I'm just going to pop the light out of the spoiler and then fit the new one. Have seen a few threads online of other people doing it, carefully is the main thing.
VW main dealer quoted nearly £400 to get a new one fitted.

Polar FIS installed. Went in through the hatch under the wiper motor, me and interior trim don't mix.

Wiper arms were bloody tough!

Well there is a chance it cannot be removed but if done via tint spray then can be removed. Was only £5 for a can so worth the punt otherwise the lights are being sold

Fitted the pipercross panel filter and bosch double plat plugs, swore a little whilst trying to get the engine cover off, surely they could have had a better way of attaching it .
After reading theses forums for a couple of hours last night  decided the downpipe is coming off tomorrow afternoon and the precat is going whilst I do the oil and filter change
