Finally managed to change my cam follower today.

i have no idea if this was changed before but my car has done 94k. Wasn';t too bad in the end, but i didn't have the banjo bolt to deal with - mine was a rubber pipe jobby.

I reckon you got that changed just in time   :happy2:

yeah pleased to get it done. happy that it wasn't difficult. I just need to do my DV now, but i can't get my front right wheel off as one the nuts is sheared a bit. Need to take it to a garage to get them to loosen up.

Plus I sh*t myself sticking my head under the car when it was on a single jack stand.... not used to fiddling under the car just yet... don't trust them at all.

It look nice but lacking the flush blended look  :sad1: I remember all the dimma body kits back in the 90's wide ached escorts astra mk2 Golf mk2 and Peugeot 205 dimma.

That is the one thing most difficult to get over is the flush look...and why never considered it before. Only considering it for when this GTI becomes mostly just a track car...and no longer a daily driver. Then is when I may get this kit.

I'm in love with the rear arch cut out but again those rivet things and half way up the body just spoil the car

You could still get a bodyshop to flush it?. Usually the wings wrap around the inside of the door and the front are complete wings but for some reason and I'm sorry to have to say that this manufacturer of the body kit fo**** up  :slap:

The grey colour is unreal!! Thought about having my car wrapped this colour at one stage after seeing an M3 in the same...

Spent about twenty minutes polishing my exhaust tips with Autosol, fine wire wool and WD40, have to say very surprised, they look great and I hadn't touched them in almost 2 years.

Can't remember where I read to put WD on first to break up the cr@p but hats off to whoever it was because it really helped.  Recommend anyone to give this a try regardless off how bad their exhaust looks, mine had small bits of rust but the polish and fine wool along with the WD got rid of it in no time.   :happy2:
