Interested in knowing more about the hpfp protective plate? Looks great...but why?  :drinking:
Thanks buddy, the reason why is because I still run with the box cover and read many posts of the hpfp sensor on the top breaking so had to buy one for safety precautions. Ordered a CAI as I'm fed up with that ugly box now so here comes a Ramair CAI
Ahh...I ran mine for some time with the cover modified after adding the intake:

...but I tossed out the cover a couple of years ago because tired of it :happy2:
see what I mean lol I've now got fed up of mine one it's broken because of a butcher who pulled it off at the garage and two it's just a  :stupid: design like everything else on vag lol

I see you modified yours to house the Neuspeed P-flow lol I'd rather not have one on at all and hopefully I won't have that revving issue again  :scared:

I do get it...couldn't stand watching the Techs try removing it way back then. I did modify it to fit...but still, I got tired of its looks and removing it.

I got mine done a couple of weeks ago, the bloke who did it said he hates doing golfs as the rear window is so curved it causes them issues trying to get the film smooth... don't know how true this is, but it took him 3 attemps and there's a couple of tiny bubbles down the sides of the window. Side windows were  fine though!

On the look-out for some Ed 30 lights now as the red stands out a bit

No they are definitely a bugger to do those rear screens as my mate tints for a living and he actually starTed the trend off back in 2000 using a hair dryer out side his house  :signLOL: I've been there all of the way and helped amouth a lot so know how it works..
Get your finger and rub it along those bubbles and theyll soon disappear  edges always come out like that due to those edges having those tiny bubbles on them.

I'll have to the wife's hairdrier out then! Presuming the heat reativates the glue? The film is hard now so no amount of rubbing will smooth it out.
Those photo's were taken after his first attempt, it's much better now.

no no you don't use the hair dryer now had its relatively dry. just use your fingers and gently rub thr bubbles in one direction and they should disappear. it's not about reactivating the glue anyway. Basically the heat will shrink the film kind of like melt it down. we use paint stripper guns now as times have changed  :P

I used to do them for extra cash in 1981 and 1982...Mississippi  :scared:
Too old to climb around doing this. I believe there is an additional lifetime warranty for purchase of < $20...will definitely do this knowing this now. Thanks for posting the troubles GTI8v  :happy2:

lmao you must be a little older than me  :P
Additional 20 for warranty and what does it cover?.
my mate did life time guarantee  :signLOL: for £150 £180 depending on vehicle. he even fu**** up burning the leather door card in a brand new Q7 at that time  I was helping him and he couldn't even hide it.

Yeah the bubbles can be taken out after a week and onward so not an issue  but dirt left in the tint can never be taken out  :P

Lifetime on material including fading, and additionally the site says "no fault warranty"...whatever that means, I'll have to ask for its meaning
