I looked again and see that you are removing all the material inside the H/Comb.

I got to drive mine today. Haven't done that in weeks...weeks!

Fitted the 10 polo aerial today. Always hated the standard golf one and had replaced it with a smaller bee sting type, but wanted a more OEM look. It unfortunately hasn't improved the radio reception (not an issue really), but that may be resolved through the Kenwood 521DAB that I'm thinking about getting!!

No that's how they was when I got the car, aren't they suppose to be like that? What's the reason for it? Cosmetic or function?

Thanks, Craig.

Just fitted mine as well, it looks much better. I'm getting perfect reception with it at the moment though.

I much prefer the look of those drilled holes rather than the actual open grills...  :happy2:

.... x 2 - I prefer them drilled like that too.

@ Craig: Apparently the reason that the early Mk5 GTI's had open panels (on DSG cars only) was that VW thought that the DSG oil would need cooling but they found it not to be the case and the design was dropped.
