Had some Yokohama Paradas fitted all round, not really pushed the car yet but even in these wet conditions the car feels totally different. So much more grip and stability, can actually go into a corner with decent speed without the back stepping out now.

I have a garage. Doesn't stop it from happening.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Drove it for the first time in about 2 weeks... brakes had pretty much seized up completely, it wouldn't move in Reverse (DSG)  :scared:
Mine did exactly the same the other week.......rears were totally seized after only one weekend. Took some real effort getting them to move again.

DS2500 rears.

Why can't Vw fix their whiteworm problems  :fighting:

Dissasembled both my R8 Oil cap and 911 Coolant cap and realigned them. IIRC the Audi one took minutes......the Porsche one on the other hand needed loads of modding to get facing the right direction, PITA.

@MC71 did you take pics when modding it? as i seen some how-to but look kinda confusing

Not hard at all to mod. Pretry sure I put something about it in my build thread, page 1. Any queries then PM me.

^^^^ That will look awesome. I paid £80 for the 2 dash trim pieces. Am sending off a load more pieces to be done now!  :pomppomp:

For those that've asked. Here's a pic of mine. Needs rebuilding and fitting but looks the nuts IMO.......

How difficult is it to get that trim piece out? Is there a thread explaining how to remove it as the missus wants it doing in carbon! I can see this being a never ending project!!

Holy thread revival.

Not hard, once you've removed the top vent (or top dash insert) then you'll see the 3 screws that need removing. Once youve removed the dash and Headunit surround it's a case of popping everything apart......carefully.

I did some research after my temperature drops when cruising and mpg is down too.

Stoke to a good garage rear and he told me it the temperature sensor hope he's right because he has the part and will be fitted

I collected my mkv gti from the main dealers today and dumped €910 on their desk in return new wishbone bushes, brake hoses all round, major service, 2 airbag sensors and a turbo boost valve! Oh the joys of motoring
