Sky TV in rain !!!!

Anyone else Sky box refuse to work in the rain !!!, is this normal !!, with the heavy rain all day its been on and off constantly !!, its driving me nuts  :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting: :fighting:

Glad its not just me having problems.  I have a dish up and Humax Freesat Hd box, get disturbed digital picturein stormy weather.

I assumed its cause Im over in germany.  (Took me ages to find the right astra satalite)

Tried a signal booster but apparently on worthwhile over long cable runs.  Have 2resistors in the 2 spare slots on the LNB to prevent signal leak.
However if it pisses it down we sometime still get crap picture :-(

Going to try a bigger dish

So annoying!

lots of factors Shaun...

Hopefully your sat dish was aligned accurately to start with to help in poorer weather conditions.

Although no matter how well or how large your dish is, the volume of water in the cloud will prevent your dish seeing the bank of satellites 35 kilometres away :happy2:

Our Sky box has been a bit dodgy the last couple of days.

@ Steve, they're coming tomorrow between 2-5pm.  :happy2:

If you have no extended warranty Shaun, then a £65 call out charge would be the bill.

Or if you know a local sky engineer that'll check it for a beer  :wink:

Dont know any unfortunately !!, PS dont Sky do a 1tb box not ?, if so whats the best model to have ?
