Well with the Mrs at football and with a few hours on my hands i decided to give the daily a clean. The cars done about 1400 miles in the past 3 weeks so it deserved it.

Started by giving it a power wash first to get rid of 3 weeks of daily grime and then gave it a good thick snow foam with elite cherry.

Then rinsed it off and gave it a clean with Auto Glym Bodywork shampoo using the 2 bucket method with my elite grit guard bucket.

Next was a case of drying the car off with a large waffle drying towel. I then used Auto Glym super resin polish to give a nice smooth surface before wax was applied. I put it on all the Jettas panels of the car and then removed using another waffle towel.

Next stage was wax. Lately ive been using the Auto Glym HD wax. And i have to say its absolutely mint. Easy to apply with the moist foam applicators supplied in the kit. I applied a nice thick coat and left it 15-20mins.

While the wax was going off i repolished the 2 rear dishes, and put a nice thick layer of Meguiars Endurance tyre gel on. This stuff smells amazing and is the longest lasting tyre cleaner ive used over the years. The glass was then cleaned with Auto Glym Fast Glass both inside and out.

Next it was time for the wax to be removed. I maybe left it on a little to long but fook me, it gives a nice finish :) Manged to get it for £26 delivered of ebay opposed to the Halfrauds price of £50!!

Finished the car off by doing all the sills and giving the car a good hoover. Then i used Auto Glym bumper care and did all the black areas on the car and then decided to give the engine bay a good clean too. Came up really well :)

Then took a few snaps of the car sat on my drive

Looking good now, but will soon be in winter mode :(

Basically, when you get to a certain point lowering a MK5/Jetta your driveshaft begins to rub on your chassis leg. To gain dick head lows, you need to remove the helpers on most coilovers to get it looking right, this is when you chassis needs to be notched.

Think my passenger side is rubbing now though too :(

Random Bead Picture Too :)

cheers dude, hopefully going to get ti even lower, going to lower the rear a little more next week too :) Think Ive got the offsets nailed pretty well, good balance between tuck and poke, just about right on the arch :) so i can go dick lows

Mitch - I Have 6mm tubed steel welded in so should be even stronger than the chassis legs was before tbh.

Which coilovers are you using? How much did they set you back? Cheers

Couple of Q's regarding wheel specs:-

1. Were you scrubbing when the fronts had the 10mm spacer on ? ET49 iirc with an 8.5j rim

2. Whats the current spec on the rears 9.5j ET and spacer ??

Wanting to see if i can tuck a 10j with a high offset  :scared:

Cheers Steve
