Poverty, you don't have to prove anything to me chap, I know the cars are fast and I believe you. I was just making a joke around the fact it's the difference in drivers, rather than cars in most instances - only 1 person lapping the 2 cars is any measure of their ability and difference in times.

Unless I'm mistaken that isn't an 8'08" lap at all. More like an 8'18"

He dribbled out of the pitlane at 12" in and went back in at 8'30"

He went passed his mate at 5" in and shook his hand in the air at 8'25"

He set off at 2" and let off the throttle at 8'22"

None of these make 8'08"

By Renault... Would like to see an independent test done between the 2 and see what the results from that would be. But that's never going to happen..
What will be interesting to see is what time the Trophy will do when tested independently. I'm not taking anything away from Renault at all, as I know what weapons they are on track and round the twisties.. I wouldn't take one on, I know that.. Would I take one over mine or a TTRS though? Errrr, no!
JHTrophy hit the nail square on the head with this quote earlier..

As td has said lots doing mad times in stock cars, Renault put a lot and time and effort into the ring times, maybe others don't, but their doors don't fall off you buy what you buy, build, image and comfort or a car that for the money will give you the best driving pleasure with 4 seats and cheapish running costs..

As for modding yours Ian.. Your best bet is RS Tuning or even (dare I say it) Superchips, going by the Meganesport.net guys are choosing. Both are giving over 300bhp too, which would be a right weapon on track. Just don't time it and mention it on here, otherwise they'll be another 6+ page thread kicking off..  

i think RS tuning is the way ill go superchips have been having a few niggles , going scorpion for a change over milltek too

I just find it amusing, that all this time the TTRS tuners have been modding the car to beat 911 turbo S pdks, ferrari 458's and GTR's when all along its the megane RS250 they should be worrying about  


A member on VAGOC has done a 7.39 BTG, should be able to knock another 10 secs off that time with a factory driver who hasnt got the worry of spanking his own car round the track in the back of his mind.

Its a cool vid with how hard the renault driver is pushing, a near perfect lap.

Your talking modded ttrs not stock v stock now  I am 100% sure tuned ttrs would spank a meg easy but all that's been said is stock v stock meg beat it and that's it

There must have been something wrong with my mates megane sport, because it couldnt keep up with a stock TTRS, never mind now. We have never thought to question it though as non of our mates with tuned FWD cars can keep up with this lot as pictured. Obviously we had better book his megane into renault to get looked at?
