Wonder if anyone can help.

I refitted my ITG yesterday and today on driving it I noticed a misfire at about 5.5k revs. Thought seeing as I played about and the day before it would be something I did, so I looked under the bonnet and sure enough the part of the intake attached to the turbo had come away. So I re-attached checked all other fixing and retested and it was still there!!

I have run a log see below and there are some fault codes, it ok in everday drving, the engine light came on briefly and went away almost straight away. Any ideas ? Have I broken something or is it just co-incidence that this fault appeared straight after re-fitting the intake - the intake was only re-fiited to allow it to sit on the rubber grommits that the engine cover sits on - I omitted to do it initially.

coilpack? The 1st cylinder  is on the turbo side i think...pull it out and pop it back in see if it was loosened by accident..

That may explain the misfire on cylinder 1 but what about cylinder 4?

Yours do it at the same rpm ? How much is a new cp by the way? It just might be my bad luck that the intake thing is red herring? I assume it's the same pm for all 4?

£35 each ish.

mine would do it over 60% load. It got alot better with a change of spark plugs too before i changed the coilpack.

Anyone know if it is likely that 2 coil packs fail at the same time?

Also do I need / or is it recommneded to change all four at the same time?

Check the plug gaps just to make sure you're not getting spark blow out with the increased airflow.

Best advice is to change all four if one fails.

That would probably be my gut reaction too. Just wanted to get it confirmed rather than waste money.

Anyone heard of more than one going at the same time, is it something that once one goes the other are supplied with more current, hence a domino effect??

What year is your car as if it's in the correct time frame you may be able to get them changed free of charge from VW under the recall. iirc Saint Steve got new ones in his ed 30 with this VW campaign.

Mine is a June 07 car. I rang my dealer when I heard of the issue and they said my car was too new for this, although I might have a look at the coil pack tommorrow and see if it has the effected P/Ns. Don;t hurt to check again and seeing as the dealer seemed unsure of himself I want to double check anyway.

To see the revision letter you will have to remove the harness from the coil pack.

I would check to see if there are any air leaks in the intake and make sure you have the MAF sensor seated correctly.  Whenever I change anything on my car I just reload the map via my sts so it adapts to the change.  Sounds like you have an air leak some where to me.
