long life oil question
« on: July 10, 2011, 07:04:47 pm »
My car is due a major service soon and when it was last done the main dealer never used long life oil as they said its not on long life servicing.(as it was before i told them i wanted to go to Time and distance) after reading lots of advice on the forum i want to request they use long life oil, what would i expect to pay extra for this.
the cars on a service plan so already paid for.
Thanks in advance :happy2:

Don't think it was much, maybe £10-20? It wasn't a huge amount anyway.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Shouldn't cost you anything,
If the car is meant to have the fully synthetic oil then Volkswagen should use what they recommend!

I thought both Longlife & T&D oils are fuly synthetic - just the longlife is a better spec / improved detergents? ?
