I agree about Gonzo and his continual hissy fits  :happy2:

Ferrari, like any Italian, is never going to bow to authority if they can get away with it. I actually respect that and have always had difficulty accepting any authority.

I don't like Alonso at the best of times and I have no leaning towards Ferrari, all I can see here is blatant cheating and they should be disqualified.  If Alonso cannot win the race of his own doing then he doesn't deserve it.

Today made me hate Alonso even more than I previously did! He is a complete wanker and doesn't deserve a seat in Formula 1, his sh*te attitude completely shadows his driving skill!!  :fighting: :fighting:

....But do you think that Felipe Massa would deserve the results of a disqualification?

Did you watch any of the more in depth discussions and interviews on BBC's Red Button after the race?

My sentiments exactly.

I also think they should have stripped Alonso of his points & ferrari the constructors points. Massa given first etc

There supposed to be a Professional Team though.

If they can't Abide by the rules they shouldn't participate. It's as simple as that.

Yes I do actually Robin, I like Massa but by moving over he took part in the conspiracy to fraudulently change the result of the race.  It's cheating - End of story.

No I haven't watched the discussions, I was watching the race on SkyPlus but I've just turned it off in disgust.

....Massa is primarily a true professional and team player - He did as it was implied/suggested/hinted he should do. I don't agree with him being 'instructed' but that's not the point. Whether transparent or in code, the reality is that such things happen. It breaks the official rules but isn't, imo, cheating because other teams/drivers weren't robbed of their race results.

By switching off you have prejudged the situation without the added benefit of further information. But of course I understand your feelings of disgust in initial reaction.

Guys what happened?! I missed the race today

--

Edit:
Just read up on it all - I must be out of touch or something but I always thought that team orders were allowed? maybe this changed over the years and I've missed it.  I'm not saying I ever agreed with it but I thought team orders were always a part of the 'racing'.

There's nothing simple when high profile sport, money, and winning are involved.

As soon as I saw this happen I KNEW there would be a following aftermath, but $100k!!! Should have been a $100M fine, all ferrari's points removed for the race and a 1 race ban for Alonso and Massa. :fighting:

IMO they should have given both drivers a time penalty of 10-15 seconds, after all what's US$100k fine to a big outfit like Ferrari...

I still maintain that Massa did nothing wrong as an employee of Ferrari and professional driver. He was put in a position between a rock and a hard place where he had little choice.

Talk of race bans etc is waaaay OTT, imo.

You say he's a professional driver and yet his actions today were totally unprofessional.

If, as they claimed, that Spanish pr1ck was faster than Massa then why didn't he over take Massa?  Simple, he couldn't and if he had tried there was every chance they'd collide (as Red Bull did recently) which would have changed the result of the race.  Equally in their squabbling they could have lost ground and allowed Vettel through and on to take a better place for Red Bull.  So you see Robin it is quite simple, by doing what they did they fraudulently rigged the outcome of the race which can only be described as cheating and should be punished to the fullest extant.

This is bigger than just this race.  If Alonso gains enough points (through this and possibly other cheating events) then he could prevent another (proper) driver from legitimately winning the World Championship.  I sincerely hope another team and/or driver speaks out about this.

I understand your admiration for his team spirit however like it or not he was part of a race rigging which ultimately could affect the result of the World Championship.
