I smeared a set of DS2500s all over mine and learnt a hard lesson. Never suffered since. 

Of all the ones I've tried, Endless have been the best. 20k and 8 trackdays didn't even wear them by half, sure they're spendy, but they last 2-3 times longer.

So why the hell does Alex throw RS42 pads in with these brake kits then if they are not suitable for the vehicle weight or temp range etc?

I still maintain that the pads are crap, even though mine have been as good as gold recently with not even a sniff of judder. They have supposedly got a maximum operating temperature of 600ºC surely thats high enough for track use?

Looking at the last 3 pad types I've used, all have an operating range up to 750degrees. Those PMU ones Mike's looking at go up to 820degrees.

I'd suggest those 4-2s are not sufficient for the weight of the car and the temps seen on track. DS2500's fall off a cliff at 550degrees. Seeing a link?? I'm sure these are fine on a 106 Rallye, or something with really good cooling, so it's really not the pad's fault.

It's a heavy car, capable of high speed and does all of its braking with the fronts. You need some serious ducting and crossing of your fingers, or get something better suited.

I'd also suggest they've not been bedded aggressively enough and they've sh*t their resin out all over your discs in the process.

I'm sure the AP discs are good quality, you shouldn't really have a worry there.

I've not used these pads before, but it appears they're pre-bedded, so only require keying to the discs. Do check this.

That's my guess too.  I remember trying to get them hot enough to see the white residue around the edges as the resin it 'set's on a previous set

My van isn't exactly fast, but as Mike knows I brake hard and very late.  RS4-2's never cause me any issues on the van that weights far more than a Cupra.   I have some 8 pots ready for the van with a set of M1155's.

The issue with the RS4-2's is they seem to leave deposits on the discs caused by not braking hard enough through general driving.

I'm fading out using them so much and using M1155, or PMU's as they work far far better and last longer.

I am not sure this is true. My 4-2s were fine on the road, didn't notice anything. Then I went to Mallory Park for a trackday,  I had to basically sack off the day because of horrendous pad build up. I cannot explain how horrible it was.... Eventually it went away after a few thousand miles of road driving (for the most parts) and at around 1/2 pad life they started behaving themselves (as Rich has found).

I drive my car exactly the same way, with the PMUs that I have now as I did with the Pagids (in terms of daily driving pootling around and the odd B-road blast and trackday) and yet I've not had a SINGLE PROBLEM with the PMUs in terms of pad build up, vibration, or anything like that, but the Pagids 4-2s were crap. Yet the PMUs have a higher maximum temperature range. So logic tells us that the PMUs would have issues with cold / daily driving type use... which they don't.

Online we see a lot of reports of build up / vibration with Pagid RS4-2s as well. I don't care what anyone says, the brake set up is brilliant. The Pagid 4-2 pads are sh*t and I'm glad Alex is phasing them out.
