Out with the old...

In with the new...

To be fitted Tuesday, all going well.  Thanks to Awesome Hassan!

Also for the rear;

Going to have the back of my number plate vinyled up as an AKS show plate so I can flip it round for track days.

Would be a nice "every little helps mod" but I cant afford the 70mm TB.  Fitting a new TB this week with WMI spacer plate.

Bit of an update....

Recently added Highline clocks, been after these for ages!  Need a Polar unit now!

]

Big thanks to EddieNL for his vag commander wizardry!  I would recomend him for any Retrofitting or fault diagnosis!

He also fitted Reverse camera to Mattos Mk5 while at mine;

Have had a pesky fault related to the steering controller.  tried a new controller, a new airbag loom, a new set of multi function buttons.  The only thing left is the slip ring other wise the thing is getting burnt out  :fighting:

Of course the week before Gti International my throttle body died too!  :sick:  Huge thanks to Alex at AKS for fixing it at inters in the 30 degree sun, with a hangover!

Tonight I painted my wheel studs with black hammerite.  I dont expect if will be very durable but looks better for now..

Ive also recently changed my VDO 25psi boost gauge that I didnt really like for a Newsouth Redline 30psi Gauge.

I really like the new gauge.  It's wired to come on with the lights and also dims using the dimmer switch for my dash lights.

All in all the car is at a real sweet spot, performance & handling wise.  Had quite a few drives through Derbyshire & the national park twisties.
As well as an evening at Cadwell & a day at Oulton Park.  Looking forward to the budget allowing the next track day!

Things still on the list;

Replacement windscreen (current one has some scratches in it  :sad1:
Charcoal delete fault mapped out.
Polar Advance unit
Longer wheel nuts to keep wheel studs from bbeing exposed to the elements (I'd kill for a garage!)
AKS Tuning Custom enlarged TB pipe.
Subframe Lock kit re fitted
Back half of dash flocked.
Recaro Pole Positions
Loba LO400
At next cambelt time - Red Silicone coolant hose kit
AEM WMI or DO
Golf R side skirts

The Trinny's look awesome infront of the Brembos  :love:

Wouldn't of gone to that much hassle to paint the bolts personally  :grin: But they look good!  :laugh:

He, cheers Pete

It's cause the car isnt garaged.  If if sits in the rain the studs slowly go orange.  I just scrub them and give a light coat of copper slip  but they where driving me mad, looked discusting.  Hopefully this looks better for longer till I can afford some nice longer nuts.

The nuts I want need are about £80 / set after postage & import tax  :sick:

Not sure when Alex is going to be fabricating my TB pipe but if I'm free I'll try and pop down.  :happy2:
