Small update.

Here's some pictures of my last track day, not managed any more yet as I've been mega busy in kenya, can't see me getting many next year either tbh.

Some comedy body roll for you

And me in the gravel trap at Yentwood

This is about 10% of the gravel that was there.  Had gravel inside the subframe, brakes, calipers, suspensipn, undertra etc etc.  took ages to clean out

And a few randoms

gone on a little holiday to Pace Performance Products in cambridge

She's having a new intercooler designed and fitted over the next couple weeks as well as an uprated radiator. having my car done in two stages though. Intercooler first of all. Whilst my car is in bits they will be taking all the radiator off for redesign etc and that will be completed after christmas.

They are now branching into VAG as we speak after developing on the S3, S4 already, with mine and a mk2 octavia vRS ready for development, so another new option.

They treated me to a tour of their factory which was very impressive. They develop, and produce all their own intercooler/radiator cores on site (unlike lots of others who buy them in) They took me through all the different stages of construction from making the tubes, the welding and testing process etc etc. Very very professional outfit, who are working on some crazy crazy custom jobs forBIG power japenese cars.

SOunds very interesting Sy.  I wonder if they would be interested in developing a Cupra radiator or have a fan alternative to solve the clearance issue with BSH pipe.

Why do you need an uprated radiator on the Homo mobile?

Posting on a tablet whilst on a train is nails.

You would have loved it there though ian. The boss sponsors the classic car racing series's etc and there were loads of tricked out vintage racers at the back being repaired for rich owners. Think they are on the website as well

Might do. Intercooler is free as for development,  the radiator is discounted.

The 1.4TSI engine develops some extreme heat on track days, bloody scary.

Oil temps almost into the 130degree area at peaks, the block gets sso hot it causes issues with spark plugs etc, so im looking at updated radiator, intercooler, oil cooler, water methanol injection, intercooler spray, heatwrap for manifold and downpipe and a turbo heat shield.

Less heat = more power+ longevity

Propper focus on heat control there  :happy2:

If I manage to actually get my hands on the bsh pipe Ill look into a slim radiator or slim fans

Originally the plan was to get the intercooler fitted now, and the radiator after xmas when funds allow, but do the full R&D for both now.

Change of plan by them, they want to do a combined package instead, as its very tightly packaged and could have ended up being a compromise.  Going to be more expensive than a normal intercooler system, but it will be alot more efficient than it would have been.

This is how she is looking now and its not a pretty sight:

Plastic end tanks will be replaced with alloy which is great for cooling.

I guess this is the new core.  He said they plan on the core being 10 mm thicker and 45 mm taller, which combined with the new alloy end tanks should make a fairly large difference.

Shark Performance do.

Have new plugs to go in the car, then i need the new ECU update from VAG, then a visit to Shark Performance to have the stage 2 map turned up to its proper output.

Whats even better is i was getting the intercooler for free, and paying for the radiator, but because they have decided to do it as a ful package instead, im getting both for free.  So probably over £1k worth of free goodies.
