Xenon washers
« on: July 27, 2011, 07:03:55 pm »
Evenin peeps
Noticed the other day when I spray my windows my headlight washers don't pop out. You can hear the motor working behind the mouldings I'm sure. Now, my MOT's due on Friday would this be a potential failure?
Cheers in advance
Scott

They spray every five window sprays. Given that it's important for xenons to have a washing system, definitely concerning but no idea if potential failure.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

At the present time (next year it may be) I don't think it is a potential failure. It sprays every 1st and 5th wash is my understanding, the lights must be on also. Are you sure it's not just the cover that's stuck? Checked the fuses?

Mine have never worked, and never had a problem with MOT's. (usually emissions that causes mine to fail )

Lights also have to be on for them to work by my understanding.

Cheers lads
I knew it was the 1st and 5th spray, had my lights on too. The covers may be just stuck. Would it jus be a Cade of prising them open? Or any other ideas?

Maybe a blown fuse, think it is number 37 or something like that.

I don't think lights need to be on, mine spray when they're off

Your lights need to be on for the headlight washer to work, if they are not working then its definitely the fuse

Had a look through the handbook and couldn't see what fuse it is. Couldn't see any blown fuses either.
You reckon it's fuse 37?
Cheers again.
