My new GTi
« on: August 06, 2011, 01:56:28 pm »
Totally standard GTi...for now   Only just picked it up today...must say I am impressed; it's going to be a great allrounder.  Anyway, a couple of photos of it while it remains standard.  have a few plans, when time and money, mainly money, allows!  exhaust, bbs rc (type) wheels, colour coded skirts, rear bumper, r32 rear lights, etc.

scammers on the internet who might clone your plate. Highly likely you'll be fine but better to be safe than sorry and if it does happen prevention would have been far better than cure

Looks nice and clean. Gotta love a Reflex Silver Mk5, but I am being biased   If you wanna know what it'll look like with colour coded skirts, bumper, R32 rear lights etc, here are a couple of pics of mine as she is at the moment. Only other cosmetic mod I'm planning is black front badge. Revo stage 1 in next couple of weeks and maybe Forge twintake a bit later.

looks spot on that.  coding the skirts, rear bumper and front splitter area are on the agenda at some point in the future.  although i think i will be getting the valance area smoothed and done in a gloss black...perhaps.  looks well nice yours.  have done the black front badge...would do the rear but cant seem to get someone to definately tell me whether the rear badge is curved or flat on the back...dont want to take it off just to see i cant get a replacement!  stage 1 revo planned for the future too...along with some nice dotz exile wheels.

The trouble with hanging around on this forum is you get your head full of ideas and your bank account emptied very quickly if you're not careful  The Mk5 has so much potential for modding. I wasn't even thinking about intakes until recently, I just kept telling myself stage 1 and that's it but now I'm thinking twintake. It won't be long before I'll be wanting to put a Milltek on and so on and then stage 2  :signLOL: Good luck with your ride mate. They really are superb cars, VW reclaimed the GTI with the Mk5.

totally agree...the mk5 is a terrific car.  i have had a mk1 GTi, mk3 VR6 (tuned) and a mk4 gttdi and i loved them all!  but the mk5 is a real return to form, i am blown away by its all round ability.  i know what you mean about the tuning bug...i have probably spent a good 4k in my mind already!!!!
