Front grille badge...broke...oops.
« on: August 11, 2011, 06:05:54 pm »
well i managed to prise off my VW emblem and swap it for a black gloss version.  only when i put it back in did i realise that it was loose and that one of the lugs must have come off.

so...i now need the thick black base that the VW emblem goes on...does that make sense?  so if anyone can quote me a part number and possible price i will be going to the dealers to get one tomorrow.  thanks.

You will have to buy the complete badge, it wont come off with just one lug broken. Mine has one missing and has never come out yet and ive had it there for at least 12months.

have bought a whole new badge (emblem and mount) - part # 1T0 853 601 A FDY.   had to get a new one as mine was wobbling about in the grille...probably wouldn't have come out, but it was lopsided after being driven!  tomorrow i will do it properly and take the whole grille off.

quite easy to take the grille off really wasnt it.  the screws under the numberplate were a bit fiddly.  anyway...all done.
