Call me stupid, Would this prevent stone chips accuring on the end of the bonet compared to the normal bonnet's!
Not sure how robust Carbon Fibre is!?????

I don't know the definitive answer but I certainly find that the unpainted carbon components (mask and splitter) on my car are more resistant to chips and easier to touch up with clear lacquer.

My bonnet is carbon too, but painted.

Didn't think you could paint Carbon as I thought it was textured!?

The 'texture' is thickly lacquered.

ahh, I get it, For those wanting a lighter bonnet but with the simplicity of keeping it the same colour throughout the car.

Picking this up after many years, did you end up cutting the holes for the washer jets?

.... Whether OEM steel or aftermarket carbon, the bonnet doesn't have holes for the washer jets on the Mk5 GTI.
