Engine cooling working over time....help?
« on: August 21, 2011, 04:16:44 pm »
hey,

something is wrong with the car, my friend has the same car, both started from cold, his just ticks over but after about 30 seconds, the main central fan infront of the engine kicks in and can see it is working overtime, sounds like a hoovercraft!!

i dont get why mine is kicking in and not his, i read something about the one of the drivers side is prone to failing but that doesnt explain why my central fan is turning on but not his??

secondly i was thinking that ive not checked the coolants within the engine bay, i dont have a booklet / manual, previous owner lost it.....how do i go about maintaining the coolants? is there anywhere i should add water into the engine?

any help would be much appreciated..........

Is your AC on as the smaller fan starts working when it is.
Without traction power is nothing!

just put air con / blowers on full and that 2nd smaller fan on the drivers side of the enginge bay did not come on :( ................... does it need to be fixed? will it stop the other fan working overtime...?
