Kerbed 18" Monza's
« on: August 26, 2011, 11:10:03 am »
Hi all,

Just kerbed front wheel. Need to get sorted before whiteworm. What should I do as emergency fix? Only real place to get stuff is halfords today.

Thanks,
C

You are unlikely to have any issues with whiteworm in this current weather,  just smear the damahe with either wax or grease until you can get it repaired.

be great to find a better fix. Any recommendations. Should I was it? Still a bit of dirt in there but don't want to scrape too much.

I'd be tempted to get some clear lacquer on there until you get it refurbed.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

You're making me feel very quilty.  :innocent:

I wasn't expecting everyone to say it was that bad. So where would I get lacquer from? Would I best best sanding it down with some fine wet paper to get the dirt out of it?

Would this help? http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_210069_langId_-1_categoryId_165495

Good news. Now to find someone decent in NI. Have a mate who should be able to help with that. Panick over but still quite depressed  :sad1:
