Had my 335i Msport for over a year now, as Ben says, noise still making me grin  :happy2: and about 30mpg overall.

Fitted BMWP CF spoiler & splitter and had the calipers/bells painted (rusted straight away).

Poverty, where did your mate get his work done? Was thinking of BMWP Map and Exhaust as they dont effect the warranty. well I lasted a year  :signLOL:

It'll be an N54 at a guess Neil.. Meth is only just hitting the Yank's N55 cars, so doubt it's over here yet.
If you are going for BMW's upgrade, be prepared to shell out best part of £3.5k for about 20bhp...  :surprised:

Taken from BabyBMW...

"Went into BMW Stockport today and finally got round to getting a full quote for the BMWP Tuning Upgrade Kit with BMWP Rear Silencer.
The parts alone came to £3,017 including VAT but without labour. Even the Parts guy was laughing.

Strange that BMW would bother putting a kit which serves no other purpose other than to push people into the arms of independent tuners. But that's where I'm heading now.
JB4 or DMS .... ?"

Neil Ive just asked him and Evolve did the majority of work but they have had bits and bobs done at other places.

Its running a jb4 now, before they had a map on the actual ecu itself or something like that but ditched it for the jb4 once they got the meth.

Supersports are the danglies, they are meant to be the same price as the PS2's. A full set for the TT in 255/35/19 set me back 1019.00 fitted. Properly sorted out the understeer tendencies, the car is so much more neutral now.

Forum folklore says the N54 is stronger but can have HPFP problems, N55 is more economical and supposedly been sorted on the HPFP front  :happy2:

I'm looking for an N54 version on account that's all i can afford

Mike.. that steering wheel looks awesome. I would have thought that a talented re-trimmer could do yours for a fraction of the cost of the BMW one.

Pete's brother? Yeah, I'd pretty much get it done cost - just need to keep my eyes peeled for a spare wheel.

Exactly who i had in mind... Edge Automotive isn't it? I suppose finding a spare wheel might be a bit tricky.

Right. So we all agree these cars are great, but what are the absolute must haves in the spec....what are the things that are hard to retrofit, or not economically worthwhile?

right away I am thinking Bluetooth .... Any others ?

Nav / I-Drive can't be retrofitted like the Golf, but I didn't opt for it due to me being already well over budget and it was another 2k. TBH, i've managed fine without it and the trusty Tom Tom comes out if I am lost. Does finish the dash off nicely though.  :sad1:
Leather is another popular option, but the car does come with the same seats in a half leather style material as stock.
For me, the must have was DCT, Xenons and Bluetooth (which in turn upgrades the stereo). Xenons (like the Golf) transform the front end of the car IMO. Plus I could never go back to standard headlights after having them. But like most options on most cars, it comes down to personal preference..  :happy2:

Regarding the N55 vs N54.. They both mod very much the same when mapping and adding things like DPs. But if you are wanting to go bonkers and add Meth etc, then the N54 is the way to go (at the min). N55 is slightly more efficient and does have a slightly better exhaust note. But to be honest, neither of them is IMO 'better' than the other.
If you want DCT (DSG) then you are limited to the N55. The N54 is available with the Steptronic Auto or MT.

Leather, DCT, Xenons, Bluetooth and Professional Nav are my must haves.

Looks a decent one,

If it helps, mine's an '08 with similar spec and I paid £18,500 from a BMW dealer. Push hard to get new brakes on it, they look a bit past it.
Sideways yo!

This one went stupidly cheap...

Has the god awful chrome-line trim, but a serious amount of car for the money..   :surprised:
