New member from Birmingham!
« on: September 05, 2011, 10:11:06 pm »
Hi,

Having my car delivered on Saturday, so been scouting the site for a few days now.

Going from a Racing Blue Clio 182 to a White Mk5 Golf Gti, 2008 plate.

Can't wait!

First thing I want to do is get the RNS510 installed, not a fan of the standard unit, so wanted to replace it, and what better to replace it with. Where is the best place to get one of these at the most competitive price other than endless hours scouting and sifting through the crap on Ebay?

Cheers,

Dave

Welcome  :happy2: I think there's someone on R32OC who does them.

Cheers mate, will have a look.

Also, the rear bumper on the Gti is black (Car is white)

Most people seem to get the top bit sprayed and leave the bottom bit black if I am correct?

Looks good so something I will be looking into to improve the rear end!

Yeah top section is painted as standard with the lower section being black textured plastic. You can have it smoothed & painted or replace with an edition 30 bumper or an R32 one. It's also worth colour coding the side skirts & front splitter  :happy2:

Yeah, the Edition 30 bumper was appealing, providing you don't have to shift the exhaust around!

R32 ones look great, but would like to keep the exhaust standard, not a fan of the drony sound coming from a Clio 182 which has a Yozza exhaust on at one point!

Keep an eye out for an ED30 one, I think there might be one for sale on here now?

Yeah will keep an eye out, get the car saturday and the RNS510 will be the first mod, then bumper.

Then maybe a little lowering and a change of alloys, quite keen on the overdone, yet simply brilliant BBS's.

Just been informed the garage are putting two new tyres on the front (Premium) as they were too low.

Just have to bear in mind that i should put a bit of money aside for the cambelt next year.

(Currently 3 yrs old, 36000 miles) Last serviced 2000 miles ago.
