Diamond Pearl Black / Black Magic Paint
« on: September 07, 2011, 10:48:06 am »
I wanted to fill some stone chips and a few small scrapes on the rear bumper (some idiot must have brushed against it :sad1:), so did some reading and ended up ordering a tin from paints4u yesterday as they were getting the thumbs up.

I ordered the LC9Z paint as this is the code for DPB/Black Magic.

Then just now I came across this thread which has got me worried it won’t match.

I didn’t realise that there are so many different coloured flakes used and there is just one code for the paint.

I am just filling some small chips so shouldn’t be a major problem.

But why has VW got just one code for so many different variants?
Diamond Black 2007 (56) Golf GTI 3Dr DSG ¦ 18" Monza II's ¦ Cruise control ¦ MFSW ¦ Highline ¦ Rear parking sensors ¦ PDT Stage 1 ¦ Forge Twintake ¦ H&R Sport Springs ¦ NQSBBK ¦ R32 Rear bumper ¦ BCS Powervalve Sports R32 style TBE ¦ Valeo LED Rear Lights ¦ Xenon lights with HID kit ¦ DNX521DAB ¦ 12mm Spacers all round ¦

If your just doing a few stone chips I can't imagine it being an issue! Personally I would drop into VW and ask them which one you need, they should be able to tell you exactly which one from your VIN number

:surprised: Didn't realise that! I've got a touch up kit so will be ok for stone chips.

There is Diamond Metallic black and Non metallic 'uni-black'. You could have a standard GTI in either, not sure if the special editions were metallic black only.
