Brembo 6-pot GT vs AP Racing Formula kit
« on: September 18, 2011, 09:52:35 pm »
Hello folks

So i bother you again. My friend who initially wanted 380mm Brembo's, decided to go with a "smaller" kit because he wants to keep the 18" wheels on. I managed to convince him to have a look at AP and he said that he needs extra opinions regarding these 2 brake kits. Can you help me with some opinions? Unfortunately i can't make him to make an account here and present his car  :sad1:

So. What do you recommend beetween these 2 kits?

* Brembo 6-piston GT kit 355x32mm

* AP Racing 6-piston Formula kit 355x32mm (street version. I didn't showed him the Challenge version like i had)

I've heard a lot of people hates the Brembo kit. It looks like it weights 11.97kg. So not that heavy.

Just had the 4 pot AP kit fitted to my MK6 GtI - Very light and look superb in red as they match the oem rears.  They fit behind standard wheel with no spacers etc.  Pedal feel is oem + with zero noise but the performance is amazing.

Prior to the Gti I had a 6 pot brembo set up on my BMW,  again faultless despite several track sessions,  they did squeak a little though when cold.

AP are actually owned by Brembo although they have little input and even compete for the same contracts.

I'd say AP for performance - Brembo have the edge on looks.

BMW M135i- Pretty Good,  but a bit ugly.
