Just picked my car up. Vw have recalled all high pressure injector cars now. The dealers were issued with a recall code yesterday and are going to start sending letters out

Anyone who paid to remove and check may want to call Vw?

Mpg have shot up driving home

Mines in today waiting for the call from the stealers and I'e heard the mpg is soooo much better, imagine that I've been using more fuel because of these faulty injectors!

I just might do that!

Update: Got a call this afternoon from the stealers I've got bad news the fuel pipe clips had been damaged and none are available till the morning and its a complete fuel line as the clips cannot be replaced.
Have to wait till the morning now and cosidering they had the car the whole day they wait till late to do the job.
What a bunch of shambles, never had anything but problems with the service dept.

I asked them at the time of the call if the injectors were all in,"well sir they are being done as we speak",this was about 4pm and they picked the car up after I phoned this morning at 9.15 when they were to pick up between 8.30 to 9.00,they arrived at 10.30!

Just noticed you have a gti dsg knob? How did you get that on? I bought a r32 knob but the orientation is all to hell. S3 knob was the easiest?

On the passive side they told you they broke a clip rather than blagging it

The story of the gti gear lever started when I got so bored with the looks and feel of the one that came with the car and very much adored the looks of the GTi version.

I purchased from this forum totally unaware it ain't gonna fit (no blame to the seller whatsoever) and as like you've said the orientation of parts don't match.

Had a google and found some guys on the audi forums having this situation when upgraded their "knobs",its basically the use of a heat gun, and a bit of balls as if you f$ck up its will be expensive.

Heat and turn the part of plastic that fits under the gear lever and when you're happy when you've got north south orientation and the plastic piece has cooled down and not revert back to original position thats a job done other than connecting the gear lever back on.

Well they couldn't release the car in that state of repair because if it came loose and sh*t happens they would face BIG problems legally. :happy2:

My dealer said they were doing a recall. From my experience it's the dealer that sends out these letters. I would call your local dealer to be sure.

Well what can I say I dont have strength in me left to carry on,where should I start.

I waited till 2pm then a call from the stealers,i thought great news they've done the job but was told after the new fuel lines were installed they tried to fire the car up but to no avail, checked for fault codes logged inthe ecu but none logged.

Then they ripped the replacement injectors out and put another set in and by now they had half the service dept working on the car.

They turned the key and nothing by now was told they had no friggin idea what could wrong, so they stuck in the original injectors and guess what the engine came back to life!

Do you guys know what reaction Was next, well all I could do was laugh my head off down the Phone saying what a circus that is the dealership.

New injectors are being ordered for tomorrow so fingers crossed and nearing 3 days of total f@ck up that should of taken max 3 hrs, fingers crossed.

Shall update as and when.
