In my quest to source Interlagos cloth I was very kindly pointed in the direction of Joe on the 'old' forum. However, when he eventually sent me a sample it turned out to be nothing like the genuine Interlagos cloth and furthermore of dubious quality as a car seat material!

I have registered on Club Lupo and sent a guy called porschetrimr a PM but so far no response.

I may have to spend £570 for genuine GTI Recaro covers from my VW dealer and that's with discount! And then my local upholsterer friend £240 to fit them (cheaper than my dealer).

Finding 1.5 metres of Interlagos for about £140 and paying my upholsterer £320 to do them would be a much more cost effective option.

HELP !!

....Yes, I did so earlier today - Someone on VAGOC posted me a link. MJ is sending me a sample just to double check - The guy clearly knows what he is talking about.

Joe meant well and did say it wasn't necessarily exact but that one simply wasn't close.

Thanks TC :happy2:

Thanks, Gareth :happy2:

I'll note that as a back-up option. MJ will be easier.

Received my Interlagos sample from MJ today :jumpmove: :jumpmove: :jumpmove: :jumpmove:

No prizes for guessing which sample it is in the pic. Also shown is the other unbacked "Interlagos" sample I had received a week ago from Joe. The MJ sample is also foam backed.

One sample costs ~£60 a metre and the other ~£90 a metre - Guess which cost which! I'm now actually feeling quite angry with Joe (Admin on the 'other' forum) - Is he taking the piss or trying to con me!? :fighting:

^^^^
EDIT: I have subsequently made my peace with Joe and would not wish a misunderstanding over an unsatisfactory sample to reflect in any way on Joe's standard of workmanship.

The problem is with it being a forum, its like getting it mapped or getting a milly all the people who have a particular brand shout from the hill tops every time some one asks whats this like. And the same will be for Joe as soon as i asked over their the other month i got about 6 PM's telling me go to Joe he is the best.
Well when you have got free advertising and a ready supply of customer's he can afford to take the piss with his prices.
