To second most of what's been said here, I spec'd my Ed30 with Xenons, if I recall they were a £725 option in 2007, are they worth it? Absolutely every penny.

I do lots of runs to the SW, from the NE and always tend to travel at night, and they are much better to drive behind.
So would recommend them or at least to get them retrofitted.

Seem to remember reading that they don't strain your eyes as much as normal headlights, and I'd say for me that is correct.

Good luck with the car search.

I had a list of 'must haves' for mine before I bought it -

Didn't mind DSG or Manual
Heated Seats
Xenons
5 door
Silver or Black
MFSW

Just after I'd got my S3 serviced (great timing)  :stupid: I spotted one in budget in Silver, and manual.  Very pleased with it so far.  Xenons are well worth it, had them previously, but nowhere near as good as the Golf's

Have a slight knocking from the rear near side, probably a shot bush, and must get some tyres soon - probably winter ones
