Ok , so I kept the Lancer GTI for a while , but then I fancied something a bit nicer so I went to Glasgow and bought a Porsche 944 lux - unfortunatly I was totally ripped off and the car was a wreck underneath so after 2 weeks i took it back and got my money back

I used the money to buy this instead , a Capri 280 'Brooklands' from a garage in Whitley Bay , N Tyneside. This is the one car I wish I had kept , as nice ones are now touching £10K or more , I paid £3250 for mine , circa 1998!

I kept the 280 for a record (then , for me!) 2.5 years , but by that time , the Mitsu garage next to my work had became a Skoda dealer also , and there was a lovely Octavia 1.8T on the forecourt with full leather.....hmmm....oh go on then!

Lovely car , heated seats , climate ect , and I would have kept that for a while , but then I read about the vRS version...couldnt resist when they said they were getting a Silver one in , bought it without even seeing or driving it! so THIS became my 2nd brand new car

2008 Golf GTI 3 Door - Candy White , 18" Monza II's , Leather , Armrest , Rear Park sensors. (current car)

Unfortunaty for me , the payments on this crippled me after a while so after about 18 months I had to get rid. In the process I lost my private plate and I was really depressed as the Octy vRS was the best car I had ever had :( I had to replace it with a runabout while my bank balance recovered , so I got this , a Lancer 1.6 16V 'Mirage' , which went surprisingly well , and scrubbed up ok too , after a bit of my car cleaning magic!

One day a few months later coming home from Edinburgh on the A1 , the clutch started slipping so I took it back to the garage to get sorted and they gave me a P reg Galant V6 auto to drive , which I really liked , so....yeah you guessed it , I bought it! I soon gave it my own touch , adding the 17" Sport Wheels and the VR4 rear spoiler.

My next car was this , Lancer Evolution II GSR , loved this , joined the MLR and done a few shows , the pic is from Billing Aquadrome , JAE show.

So , had the Evo about 18 months , cost me a fortune to run and kept breaking down , probably due to lack of care of a previous owner. Nevertheless I loved it , and was gutted when , yet again , I had to get rid of it before my bank balance was sucked dry! The Mitsu garage (by this time they had just lost their Skoda franchise again) had this little Fabia in , 29K on the clock , one owner and air con , and just the 198 BHP less than the Evo! SOLD!!! (I figured I would get a few years out of this to give my bank a chance to recover - ended up keeping it over 5 years , which is a record for me!)

I traded the Fabia in last september , for the Golf GTI , at Western VW Edinburgh , and thats me up to date. I wish I had taken pics of all my cars , and I also wish we had a VW garage here in Berwick (last one closed in 1984 , but not before my Dad had the chance to buy a brand new Mk1 Polo , which is probably where I get my love of VWs from!), that way I would have had a few more VWs in my car CV....

Thats my lot , hope you have enjoyed the pics.
