BMW 330i
« on: September 29, 2011, 10:05:27 pm »
I'm going to look at a BMW 330i MSport touring tomorrow to replace the Ed ( I need more space and doors with the kids etc).

I know its not gonna be S2+ quick and a better choice may be the 335i but has anyome driven the 330i and got any comments not just about the pace but all other aspects in comparison with an ED  :popcornsoda:

How old is it? I drove an 06 330i coupe Last week looking to buy it and I just couldnt get on with it. It just seemed gutless to me  The sound was nice though :driver:
What do you intend on doing with the ED??

The Ed will be up for sale soon. Watch this space !! I'm figuring the BM may feel gutless with no turbo, Its the E90 2006 with the 258bhp engine.

I'm not after massive speed but a decent turn of speed will be nice..

Keep me informed fella :happy2:

Cool thats the same engine I drove. Dont get me wrong it was a nice drive but it just didnt have the go of the GTi or Clio for that matter :stupid: But take it for a drive.

Has it got to be petrol Rob? (Perhaps so...)

If not, I know a few people that would say the 330D is by far the better buy. Considerably more economical, can be had in tourer shape, a turbo to play with and I'd say on road quicker than the 330i in my brief experience both 0-60 and in gear.

A bit of a warning - they're not that big. We've had our 2010 320d M Sport Touring for about 5 months now and I really only think it's more practical than our 5-door GTI when the back seats are down. The boot is very shallow.

We're considering trading it in for a similar age E-Class estate.

Thanks guys. It has to be petrol as I run a petrol car for work which gets paid for if you catch my drift
Also if I avoid the turbo it means that I won't get tempted into remapping, slipery slope as I need all spare cash for a house move.

Yes I've seen a non M Sport verion tourer and it ain't that big but all I need is 5 door golf big, and yes I could get rid of my 3 door for a 5 but I just fancy something different.
