Went to GTI International today, very wet, very busy and as soon as it stopped raining I used my 4 run passes down the strip.

Best time of the morning was 14.02 with a 5.49 second 0-60. Not as good as I'd hoped, but the surface was very wet and add to that the DSG torque limiter cutting in, it wasn't too bad.

I must say that I enjoyed the handling course more than the sprint. Ended up with a 40.07 second run. The guy on the stand taking down the time told me beforehand that anywhere near to 40 seconds was excellent. The guys on the stand with track prepped cars and racing tyres were managing 39.6 to 39.7, so I was well impressed with the car. However, the guy from Bilstein said if I had set the car up on full hard with the damping then the car would have been just as good as the track cars!!

Bodes well for the next trackday.

Are they a direct fit john, or some wiring / loom fettling to do?

On the Xmas list...

they are a direct fit mike.  Not a cheap mod though, and probably not need on the TFSi.

The 1.4TSI hjowever has misfire issues.  I'm currently running BKR9EIX plugs with a very small spark plug gap to stop the misfires.  Using these plugs mean Id be able to increase the spar plug gap and still maintain a stronger spark which means a much stronger cylinder burn.  I think there is a set going on mine very soon.

As Sy says, probably not needed on the 2 litre unless you are called TEFF!

Big benefits for the little 1.4TSi engine though. :happy2:

Forgot to mention. If you are running WMI on the 2.0TFSi then there is an advantage to having the Okada Coilpacks as it helps with a more complete burn in the cylinder.

Nice job  :congrats:

About the coilpacks... can you guys give an estimation on the price?

About the missfire issues, I am currently doing some investigation on this (for my 1.4 tsi engine). I think the best way to go is to have the engine checked preferably with a device that does not require you to strip the engine apart. I changed the coils, spark plugs (NGK Iridium), diverter valve (I had an older version), N75 valve (again an older version) but that did not solve the missfire issue.
From what I heard the missfire issues can be caused by a number of factors. First you might want to check for deposits on the valves preventing them from closing properly (a common issue on FSI engines) or the timing belt.
I have had some testing with the oscilloscope but the tests are not yet finished.

It was bought originally with the wife in mind. I just ended up hijacking it and twisting it to my own evil ways!
