Vinyl Wrap Question....
« on: April 06, 2009, 05:46:09 pm »
....

So, admit it! Who has wrapped themselves in black vinyl? I hope you waxed first

The Recaro Sports I'm getting from jonnyc have very glossy black plastic(?) backs and I'm thinking it would be a good idea and look better if just the glossy parts were vinyl wrapped.

Matt black is the obvious finish but I think I know what Hurdy would do

Raccoon seem to be very experienced and they have a franchise(?) near Phylis. Does anyone have any experience of them?

Many thanks  :happy2: 8) :happy2:

with something like that how would the wrap hold up to people scuffing with shoes as they get in and out - as access is limitted with the recaros

trying not to bring doom and gloom...just thinking out loud :innocent:

i think they look good as they are tbh

Perfect solution for my wife's R32!  I've been thinking about how to protect the Recaros in the R32 for a while and the need got urgent this weekend when I saw a tiny hairline scratch on one of the backs    I was thinking of stonechip film from Halfords but it would look tacky.  Vinyl wrap seems excellent - can do them deep blue pearlescent too!!!

....My GTI is a 5-door, so there shouldn't be scuffing, but it's a good point.

The glossy backs may look better in reality than in pics - I'm just dreaming thinking about them before I get them.

Oh.. I thought that pic was of them newly fitted onto your car Robin.  I was wondering why you had no back seats and thought you'd gone hardcore (not in a sexual sense of course  :rolleye:) or something

I know you like your decals RR , so maybe you could consider a GTI text , or a symbol or RACELINE etc vertical or horizontal on the seat back?  Would need to be subtle though

They dont look good in reality, i am not a fan of the black back, i have enquired already about getting mine sprayed and because of the fitting at the top, the seats need to stripped for a pro job. The vinyl could be a winner if it can be made to look good at the top.
I have been thinking about getting some airbrush artwork on mine, but my imagination has been letting me down and cant think of a design i like that would also suit the interior of the car.  :rolleye:

....Or a message for my backseat passengers - Something subtle like "FANCY A F*CK?"

Strange.. I've got NOD32 but no alarms went off?  I don't use Google Chrome because its a trojan horse sending info of all your online activity back to Google HQ - otherwise I'd use it.
