Have to agree with a few posts on here, the S3 is a great car but its not worth £2-3k more than an edition 30, i had choice of both and test drove both and preferred both the look of the Ed30 and the interior, then again im not one for paying over the odds for a "Posh Golf"

try a stg 2+ S3  at least we can get the power down lol

Once your off the line yes....but you know we will come buy very soon after  :P
Are u joking

had a run up the strip against a stg2+ ED30 and that isn't how it worked out, and I've owned both, and I still have the S3 work it out :-)

I wonder why the OP doesn't take the less expensive path and do a ko4 upgrade...

well did think about going ko4 upgrade, but guess that would cost fair bit, tbh exhaust, ko4 turbo, intake, intercooler, fuel pump, mapping, ect, and from what I have read the ed 30 has stronger internals and far more tuning potential, so to get my gti to the stage of a stage 1 ed30, would cost  few grand, and the ed30 I am looking at has low mileage compared to mine

I was thinking of doing that as well, but with the K04 upgrade, clutch, LSD and updated brakes it would cost me an extra 5-6k anyway. The S3 look a better option, and quattro as well, so no worries about getting the power down  :driver:
Gazbut, is yours DSG or manual? If manual have u mashed the clutch yet?

Did u keep the original setup with a standard DMFW and uprated the rest?
That's why I'm concerned and thinking about the DSG

A new standard DMFW?   :happy2:

How many miles did the original clutch last u at stage 2+ and how long have u driven with the new setup?

dual mass fly wheel, the original clutch did well as the car was mapped from about 1k and lasted about 25k, so the latest set up has been on 10k or so

true, but i was under impression a stg 2+ ED30 with an LSD was quicker than an Stg2+ S3 (certainly in the dry, as weighs less)
Diamond Black Pearl Edition 30, still going strong but now back to Stg 1

So you took out the original DMFW and replaced it with the same but new (how much)?
Do you find the current setup heavier?
Stage 2+ S3 0-60 times must be sub 5seconds   :pomppomp:
I can't wait to get mine.

There is no way that a LSD is a replacement for Quattro!!!

no, but am sure many peoples stage 2+ eddies have run sub 5 seconds to 60 as results posted show...
