If you're not remapped then performance improvements may be minimal with just an intake alone.

Nevertheless give it 100 miles or so to allow the ecu to full adapt then report back on your thoughts.
Without traction power is nothing!

Whenever I've got a "five minute job", I always make sure I've got a week free.

AFAIK an intake really comes into its own at stage 2+, although I fitted mine at stage 1 and after a few hundred miles it did seem to improve throttle response and mid range power, and of course it sounds good.  Not worth the 3 stitches though..... :ashamed:

lol i can imagine. don't get me wrong, it definitely makes a difference to the throttle response, and i can drop down by one gear less for overtaking and stuff, and it looks nice but that's offset by the fact there's no engine cover anymore which makes the engine bay untidy. (that's why i was asking about the Mk6 engine cover - it turns out the facelift A3 2.0T also uses the MkVI's EA888 engine with less power but i thought it was the old EA113 engine and the engine cover and intake are separate so i was going to fit one of those.)

i'm undecided on the benefit. i'm don't think i'm planning on getting it mapped for insurance and resale reasons (as well as the fact it's pretty pricey). but at least there's a DV relocation port so i might get the forge adjustable BOV fitted so i can chav it up a little when i want, and turn it off when i don't  :signLOL:
