Green LED on rear view mirror?
« on: November 06, 2011, 03:55:24 pm »
Ok then, my car came with one of those auto dim rear view mirrors, but I've never actually seen any difference with it.
Was in the garage for the last two weeks for engine repairs, got in the car this morning, and theres a green LED on the mirror illuminated, can anyone tell me what its for?

The green LED tells you its on, Pres the button on the bottom of the mirror to turn it off.

Most effective at night with headlights reflecting in them. Turn it off you'll notice the difference.

I read about it in the owner's manual.

Comes in very handy when you've got a van or bus driving behind dazzling you  8)

When it's on with the green LED lit up the mirror will dim to become green in colour when some bright lights are behind you  :happy2:

May be more difficult than you think as if your car is like the Golf then Seat would have left out the wireing harness.

Hmm, gutted.  I have run wires to the mirror and assumed it would just need 12v :( I'm not fussed about auto lights or wipers and I don't have the windscreen with the sensor
